Senior Mental Health Director

The Psychiatrist provides comprehensive psychiatric services to incarcerated patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders. The position requires a strong commitment to providing compassionate care, sound clinical judgment, and effective communication with interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric services to inmate patients, including evaluations, treatment, and monitoring of psychotropic medications in compliance with professional and company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure uniformity of mental health services and documentation of psychiatric services.
- Provide supervision and oversight to psychiatric nurse (if applicable) and consultation/training services to mental health and medical staff.
- Participate in involuntary medication of high-risk inmates and provide documentation of psychiatric services contacts as requested.
- Exercise independent medical judgment in diagnosis and treatment of patients while adhering to approved medication formulary and notifying appropriate staff of clinical or administrative concerns.
- Doctorate in psychiatry.
- Training and experience providing psychiatric services to an adult population.
- Physician who is licensed to practice medicine in the state of employment.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in psychiatry.
- CPR Certified.
