Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Dietetic Technician to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a Registered Dietetic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our nutrition services department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough nutrition screens and assessments to identify patients at risk for malnutrition.
  • Develop and implement personalized nutrition plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with registered dietitians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families on healthy eating habits and nutrition-related topics.
  • Accurately document patient information and nutrition plans in the medical record.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree from an accredited dietetic technician program.
  • Registered Nutrition and Dietetic Technician (NDTR) certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a hospital setting.
  • Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
