Job Title: Associate Director/Director, Precision Oncology

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Director/Director, Precision Oncology to play a vital role in our company's efforts to progress lead candidates to IND and early clinical studies. The successful candidate will be responsible for the translational validation of discovery platform targets in cell-based and disease-relevant pharmacological models.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, plan, and implement high-quality in vitro and in vivo assays to evaluate the mechanisms of action of the target.
  • Lead target validation activities, including target assessment, prioritization, and the development and execution of workplans.
  • Coordinate with external research vendors to plan and execute animal studies, defining tissue and disease-specific target engagement levels, and establishing biomarker plans and translational PK/PD assessments.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams to design, plan, and execute experimental studies, ensuring milestones and objectives are met within established timelines.
  • Mentor and train junior scientists within the group as needed.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, Immunology, or a related discipline with 8 - 10 years of experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of tumor intrinsic mechanisms and target validation for drug discovery.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture and proficiency in designing and executing tumor animal models.
  • Proven experience in directly supervising and mentoring scientists and research associates.
