Role Overview:

The Senior Enterprise Solutions Architects will collaborate closely with various Business Unit teams to comprehend their objectives, shape technology strategies that align with enterprise standards, and co-lead the design of overarching system architectures aimed at achieving business results. These architects will advocate for reusability, address technical liabilities, and prevent the unnecessary proliferation of technology components and services by promoting the IQVIA methodology throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation strategies for high-level system architectures that support current and future IQVIA systems, products, and platforms, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Business Unit product and system architects to co-create conceptual, contextual, and logical architectures that fulfill business use cases.
  • Assist business leaders in evaluating the technological, operational, and financial implications of their technology investment choices.
  • Present architectural options to stakeholders, demonstrating how they will fulfill their requirements.
  • Serve as a thought leader in architecture and a trusted partner for Product and Engineering Leadership, recommending innovative solutions to enhance existing and new system architectures.
  • Work alongside IQVIA Business Unit stakeholders and closely with engineering and product teams to advocate for our API-first development approach.
  • Provide insights into interrelated business and technical capabilities by identifying patterns in similar use cases.
  • Develop business cases to assess, plan, and prioritize investments in business capabilities.
  • Map business capabilities to underlying processes, systems, and technologies.
  • Partner with business line managers to provide comprehensive technical and system expertise, aligning IT strategic direction with architectural concepts.
  • Collaborate with A&S EA peers, Technical Architecture, and the engineering community across IQVIA to intake and validate business use cases for shared services delivery.
  • Maintain the EA application portfolio for IQVIA, promoting and aligning stakeholders to sustain business and technology inventories.
  • Formulate and present complex business cases and program release plans to senior management, offering priority recommendations to advance IQVIA's architectural roadmap.
  • Share insights, recommendations, and lessons learned across functions, acting as a consultant to provide system and technical guidance.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technological advancements, identifying opportunities for future system implementations.
  • Mentor and coach peer architects throughout the organization.
  • Possess hands-on experience with API-first design concepts and implementation strategies, employing convergent thinking to solve problems within system contexts while focusing on scalability and reuse.
  • Analyze competitors, industry leaders, and peers, evaluating their technology use relative to the enterprise and making practical recommendations for continuous improvement.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience in software development and enterprise architecture, with a significant portion dedicated to enterprise architecture.
  • Experience in developing strategic technology plans and roadmaps, including business architecture, value streams, capability maps, and customer journeys.
  • Expertise in designing, integrating, and managing complex infrastructure solutions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both business and technical concepts.
  • Experience leading initiatives to create technological solutions and architectures that impact critical business areas.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills with both business and technical groups.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated technology skills across multiple IT domains (e.g., application, security, infrastructure).
  • Strong consultative skills at a cross-functional level.
  • Experience in enterprise architecture or application architecture, application development, and/or systems management.
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience with event-driven architectures, microservices, RESTful designs, and other modern architectural techniques and best practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of API-first design patterns.
  • Experience with both on-premise solutions and cloud platforms, particularly Azure and AWS.
  • Experience in the Healthcare/Life Sciences sector is preferred.
