At Sandalwood Management, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Accounting Manager to oversee all financial and accounting activities for our residential property management division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the monthly close process, including analytical review of operating results to ensure accurate accounting records.
  • Coordinate with the Compliance Team for accuracy in reporting for HUD rental calculations and LIHTC rent calculations.
  • Review and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances and maximize returns.
  • Assist regional managers in preparing annual budgets for client properties.
  • Supervise the accounts receivable staff.
  • Coordinate with AP the process annual 1099s and assist with the preparation of data for annual tax returns.
  • Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports and data analysis for management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's and/or master's degree in accounting or related discipline.
  • In-depth experience of a wide range of financial and accounting practices and processes.
  • Prior professional work experience in a position equivalent to an accounting supervisor or higher.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred but not required.
  • Experience working in property management preferred but not required.
  • Computer skills required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience with general ledger software required.
  • Experience working with Yardi Systems property management software highly preferred.
