Compensation: Salary range of $60,000 to $70,000 depending on experience, along with a company vehicle and gas card, plus additional benefits.
Position Summary:The Safety Compliance Specialist will play a crucial role in promoting a safe working environment for all employees and clients. This position involves the development and enforcement of safety protocols, ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Report directly to the Corporate Safety Director regarding all health and safety issues.
- Coordinate with the Branch Manager for operational matters.
- Maintain and update employee training records, collaborating with the team to schedule training sessions for field and yard personnel.
- Assist employees in recognizing hazards and ensuring compliance with regulations, including the implementation of Stop Work Authority.
- Engage with Contractor Safety Personnel to discuss site-specific policies and procedures for scaffold erection and dismantling.
- Conduct thorough investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses, providing written reports for all occurrences involving employees or customers using company equipment.
- Perform monthly inspections of the yard, shop, vehicles, and warehouse, completing inspection reports in a timely manner.
- Execute job site safety inspections, documenting findings in written audit reports.
- Ensure all company vehicles and offices are equipped with appropriate first aid kits, hazard signage, and fire extinguishers, conducting monthly checks.
- Compile weekly safety reports for corporate review to assess branch needs and employee training requirements.
- Verify that each employee is equipped with the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintain records in the training matrix.
- Lead weekly safety toolbox talks at the yard or project site, documenting attendance and discussion topics.
- Conduct orientation sessions for new hires or rehires, completing the necessary training documentation for employee files.
- OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 510 certifications are mandatory.
- A minimum of three years of experience in construction safety, with a focus on scaffolding safety preferred.
- Must possess a clean Motor Vehicle Record, free of major violations.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and best practices related to scaffolding and fall protection.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying safety concepts effectively to all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive safety inspections, investigations, and risk assessments, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation capabilities.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
