Job Title: Site Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Safety Specialist to join our team at BASF. As a key member of our Agricultural Solutions team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing safety programs to ensure compliance, safe work practices, and continuous improvement at the site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Provide technical and regulatory expertise to support safety activities and ensure safe work practices.
  • Collaborate with site management to address compliance concerns and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead and deliver safety training to site employees to meet federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Work with site management, corporate EHS, and other parties to prepare for audits and ensure compliance.
  • Implement corporate standardized EHS policies and procedures, including Safe Work Permits, Job Safety Analysis, Management of Change, Incident/Accident investigation, Ergonomics, and HAZCOM.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment with strong knowledge in Occupational Safety.
  • Extensive regulatory (OSHA, EPA, DOT, DHS) and technical safety expertise is essential.
  • English and Spanish bilingual skills, strongly preferred.
  • Professional Certification (CSP, CIH, etc.) or completed within 18 months of employment.
  • PSM (Process Safety Managed)/RMP (Risk Management Plan) knowledge and expertise, preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 10%.
