Job Title: Tax Office Clerk

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax Office Clerk to join our team at the Hidalgo Co. as a key member of our administrative staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to the public, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Perform moderately complex clerical work, including data entry tasks, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Work under close supervision with minimal latitude for initiative and independent judgment, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • General office experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Must have a current valid Texas motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Must be able to be insured by the County's insurance carrier.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) with the ability to converse fluently in both languages.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and accept documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
