FHCSD is seeking a highly skilled Safety and Security Officer to join our team. The Safety and Security Office is responsible for ensuring the security and safety of all FHCSD sites, patients, employees, visitors, and assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive site patrols to ensure safety and security standards are met or exceeded.
  • Monitor and respond to potential security or safety issues through surveillance camera systems and/or smart devices.
  • Mitigate or prevent HIPAA breaches by being vigilant during patrols and providing report findings to site leadership and security management.
  • Provide de-escalation techniques and approaches to manage aggressive or verbally overt patients or visitors, ensuring the safety of all.
  • May provide arrest and control when circumstances dictate to ensure security and safety standards are met.
  • Assist with major events related to traffic control, direction, and safety for attendees and employees.
  • Participate in mandatory organizational drills and exercises.
  • Direct staff, patients, visitors, and vendors to safety in the event of an emergency.
  • Respond immediately to emergency calls and clear the way for emergency vehicles and personnel.
  • Monitor and patrol all parking across FHCSD sites.
  • Administratively support security entrance and assignment to appropriate FHCSD site for employees, vendors, and contractors.
  • Manage multiple security software, including Access Control, Camera Systems, Fire Systems, Alarm Systems, Data Reporting, and Two-Way Radio.
  • Maintain and test emergency devices on a regular schedule.
  • Respond to after-hour emergency calls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in the security field, security patrol officer, security guard, military MP, law enforcement, or security safety officer in a related field.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the skills, knowledge, and ability to perform the essential job duties.
  • Requires an active California driver's license for the class required for operation of assigned vehicle.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle and drive own vehicle on a daily basis around San Diego county.
  • Must successfully be enrolled in the DMV pull program and meet organizational driving requirements prior to start date.
  • Successful completion of CPR, First Aid, and California Guard Card training within the first 30 days of employment.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base range for this position, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.

$25.00 - $25.00

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
