Summary:
At East River Medical Imaging, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional diagnostic imaging services with compassion and comfort for our patients. Our team of certified physicians represents a broad spectrum of sub-specialty medical imaging, including cross-sectional, musculoskeletal, oncologic, and neuroradiology. We are seeking a full-time Front Desk Associate who will serve as the initial point of contact for our patients. It is essential that you embody a helpful, warm, and welcoming demeanor. Your responsibilities will include managing patient flow, providing relevant information, and directing patients and visitors as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish a strong rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds through effective communication and empathy.
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance at all times.
- Demonstrate the ability to multitask efficiently without becoming overwhelmed.
- Process payments, including running insurance estimates.
- Update patient records, ensuring accuracy of contact information.
- Verify that insurance authorizations are in place.
- Ensure patients are cleared for all exams, including CT, MRI, PET/Nuke scans, X-ray, and Sonograms.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the following qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma with 2 years of college experience or 2 years of experience in healthcare, or a combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with basic insurance and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of HIPAA laws and compliance regulations.
- Project and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively communicating and coordinating with team members.
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Professional communication with patients, physicians, and staff.
Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Word, RIS-IC, PACs, and Royal solutions is required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
