Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist Opportunity

About the Role:

SSM Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our Cardiovascular Operating Room team at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of surgical procedures, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Anticipate and prepare for surgical cases, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and ensure seamless patient care.
  • Operate and maintain specialized equipment, including surgical instruments and monitoring devices.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in surgical technology.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or certification in surgical technology preferred.
  • At least six months of experience in a surgical specialty or two years of surgical technician experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
