Position Summary:

We are looking for a dependable and skilled School Bus Operator to be part of our transportation team. In this role, you will be tasked with the safe and timely transportation of students to their designated locations. This position demands exceptional driving capabilities, effective communication skills, and a strong dedication to the safety of all passengers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a school bus to transport students to assigned locations.
  • Comply with all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
  • Keep the interior of the vehicle clean and organized.
  • Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure punctual arrivals.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to all passengers.
  • Communicate effectively with students, fellow drivers, and supervisors.
  • Address any passenger concerns or issues professionally.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Valid CT CDL driver's license with a clean driving record, including Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
  • Preferred experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working with children or in childcare environments is advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Excellent driving skills and comprehensive knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
  • Strong customer service abilities and capacity to engage with diverse groups.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations calmly and professionally.
  • Must demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a robust work ethic.

Qualified candidates will be considered for paid training. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and possess a minimum of 3 years of clean driving experience. A pre-employment drug test is mandatory.

  • Pay matching is available for experienced operators.
  • Paid physical examinations.
  • Compensation for mandatory safety meetings.

Job Type: Part-time

Compensation: $29.00 per hour
