Key Responsibilities- Triage and track patient telephone contacts, directing calls to the appropriate party and taking accurate messages.
- Obtain patient registration information, complete patient registration forms, and schedule appointments to ensure an efficient flow of patients.
- Obtain necessary authorization numbers and referrals, verify financial information, and maintain patient medical records.
- Check patients in, ensure accurate demographic and insurance information, and collect co-payments.
- Maintain patient flow in the waiting room, notify medical staff of patient arrival, and perform discharge functions.
- Reconcile and batch encounter forms, maintain quality assurance, safety, and environmental standards, and protect patient confidentiality.
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Office Management or equivalent experience in a healthcare environment.
- Two years of experience in a healthcare setting, with proficiency in English and computer skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
