Job Summary

ProMedica is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Audit Intern to assist in evaluating the activities of the system across all entities as a service to the board of trustees and all levels of management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in documenting comprehensive audit programs for evaluation of assigned areas and develop formal audit reports.
  • Ensure compliance with acceptable audit standards, plans, and schedules.
  • Meet with senior auditors throughout the audit process to ensure accurate understanding of the area/function audited and ensure regular communication with management.
  • Assist with assessments and reports on all control weaknesses and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare detailed workpapers to support completion of the audit program and any findings identified.
  • Participate in pre- and post-audit meetings as requested and provide analytical support of issues presented.
  • Use computer-assigned auditing techniques where appropriate.
  • Maintain current knowledge of new developments relating to accounting, auditing, IT, and other matters.
  • Perform special reviews as requested.

Requirements

  • Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in accounting, business-related area, or Information Technology.
  • Must be able to move about the facility and between workstations.
  • Must be able to understand directions, communicate, and respond to inquiries; must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be proficient with office and automation software.
  • Must be able to occasionally move lightweight materials.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of their time.
