Lockheed Martin is in search of a Precision Manufacturing Specialist to enhance the Machining Operations Center (MOC) within the Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) facility.

The MOC is renowned for producing ultra-precision machined components that serve as the backbone of infrared and electro-optical targeting systems primarily utilized in defense sectors.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with fellow Manufacturing Engineers, Industrial Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Production stakeholders.
2. Develop and refine CAM programs using specialized software.
3. Identify suitable machinery (CNC mills, lathes, etc.) and machining techniques for the fabrication of precision components.
4. Create and update detailed work instructions and shop floor documentation to meet production requirements.
5. Design fixture and tooling concepts along with accompanying drawings.
6. Provide on-site support to resolve technical and manufacturing challenges.
7. Conduct investigations and perform Root Cause analysis for component non-conformances, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.
8. Monitor and report on quality, schedule, and cost metrics for assigned projects/programs.
9. Undertake additional duties as assigned.
10. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and receive training, and when necessary, mentor others.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with precision machining (CNC lathes, CNC mills, etc.) and the associated methods, cutting tools, and fixtures for manufacturing precision components from various aerospace alloys.
  • Proficient in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
  • Hands-on experience with Siemens NX CAM software.
  • Familiarity with G-code.
  • Ability to interpret Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of precision measuring tools and equipment.
  • General understanding of Mil-Spec special processes (heat treatment, chem-film, anodize, passivation, organic coatings, etc.).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for a U.S. DoD Security Clearance.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with CREO or NX for CAD and CAM.
  • Familiarity with Vericut.
  • Understanding of ISO9000 and AS9100 industry standards.
  • Effective project management skills.

Work Environment:

This position requires full-time onsite work at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Lockheed Martin supports various alternate work schedules that offer flexibility to employees.
