Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Front Desk Agent to join our team at 21c Museum Hotels. As the face and voice of our hotel, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest experiences and ensuring seamless check-in and check-out processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to guest inquiries and provide accurate information and services in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Check-in and check-out guests, using both manual and computerized methods, to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
  • Process guest payments and maintain accurate records, using proper cash handling methods and established procedures.
  • Answer incoming calls, assist with outgoing calls, and provide timely and efficient service to guests.
  • Control cash transactions at the front desk and maintain complete responsibility for personal bank as specified by hotel bank agreement policy.
  • Process guest mail, messages, and faxes, and provide guests with timely and accurate information.
  • Stay up-to-date on gift shop merchandise and provide guests with information and process sales.
  • Relay art exhibition information to guests.
  • Contribute to and maintain established information and communications sources, such as department and front desk log books.
  • Provide assistance to other employees and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and the hotel.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of standard cash handling procedures and computerized cash register systems.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions, work on more than one task at a time, and communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use tact and understanding when dealing with customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.
  • Highly organized and able to pay attention to minute written and verbal details, particularly when performing multiple tasks.
  • Standard office equipment, including but not limited to: telephone, copier, cash register, PC, fax machine, and PBX machine.
  • Pass a background check.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Past experience in dealing directly with the public and acquired general knowledge of basic customer service skills.
