Position: Senior Project Manager for Technology Solutions
Role Overview:
The Senior Project Manager for Technology Solutions is responsible for various tasks assigned by the Technologies Division Manager. This role involves estimating both large and small-scale technology projects, including telecommunications, access control, distributed antenna systems (DAS), and audio/visual systems, as well as managing the awarded projects. Daily responsibilities include conducting thorough research, sourcing project materials, supporting team members during project execution, scheduling, updating project data, and preparing progress reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, bid documents, and other relevant materials to determine project requirements and develop bid proposals.
- Prepare detailed bid documents, including specific scope letters for each project.
- Identify and address any issues or conflicts within the bid documents.
- Develop strategies to enhance bid competitiveness.
- Review quotes to ensure compliance with requests and verify accuracy.
- Calculate costs associated with electrical construction based on comprehensive document evaluation.
- Price change orders as necessary and communicate with clients to justify pricing.
- Generate monthly progress billings, including creating schedules of values and reviewing job costs.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and encourage future business opportunities.
- Participate actively in manpower coordination with department management and field leadership.
- Oversee the seamless operation of multiple projects from initiation to completion.
- Collect and analyze data to establish project objectives.
- Communicate any changes in project plans to team members promptly.
- Conduct quality reviews to ensure adherence to industry best practices.
- Evaluate projects for value engineering opportunities, considering specific job conditions affecting labor and materials.
- Proactively identify potential challenges and devise effective solutions.
- Request material and equipment quotes from suppliers.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and clients.
- Prepare budget estimates.
- Compile Work In Progress (WIP) reports for monthly meetings with executive leadership.
- Keep the Technologies Division Manager and other stakeholders informed on bid progress.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, building science, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating or project management within low voltage electrical contracting or a related field.
- Current RCDD Certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of various electrical materials and installation methods.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
This position is primarily office-based, with typical working hours from Monday to Friday during standard business hours. However, extended hours may be required as project deadlines approach, including occasional weekend work. Fieldwork may necessitate travel and overnight stays for project oversight.
While performing the duties of this role, the Senior Project Manager may encounter fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. Exposure to various extreme conditions at construction sites (e.g., weather, noise) may also occur.

The Senior Project Manager may occasionally be required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The individual must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
