Electrical Systems Design Engineer

The Senior Electrical Engineer will contribute to the design and development of control solutions for Persimmon's robots and other electromechanical systems. Key responsibilities include designing system architectures based on requirements, leveraging analyses and simulations to design circuits, and performing testing, troubleshooting, and integration of PCBs into robots and other electromechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design system architectures based on requirements
- Leverage analyses and simulations to design circuits, design PCBs (schematic and layout), and perform testing, troubleshooting, and integration of PCBs into robots and other electromechanical systems
- Collaborate with mechanical and controls engineers on electrical/thermal/packaging design, integration and testing
- Integrate, test, troubleshoot electrical components into robots and other electromechanical systems
- Collaborate with external suppliers for PCB layout, fabrication, assembly and testing
Requirements
- Extensive experience in circuit analysis, simulations, and troubleshooting
- Experience in managing and analyzing thermal performance of power components
- Theoretical understanding of cables and connectors and thermal rating thereof
- Theoretical background and experience in electrical and electronic system design
- Proficiency in test equipment; oscilloscopes, power supplies, DAQs, digital loads, power meters
- Experience in digital and analog circuit design, Ethernet/EtherCAT, power electronics design and motion control for electromechanical systems
- Experience with 3-phase motor controller design, Matlab, EtherCAT, BiSS-C, boost circuits, SBCs, Lab skills, including rework and SMT PCB solder skills
Education
- S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, industry experience is required
- S. in Electrical Engineering preferred
