About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Inverter Design Engineering Student to join our team at Magna Powertrain. As an Inverter Design Engineering Student, you will assist the inverter Engineering eDrive Systems electrification group with projects on all different levels throughout the co-op program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the design and development of eDrive architecture by understanding system requirements and subsystem requirements related to the inverter system from both external and internal sources.
  • Perform inverter system requirements analysis and support modeling to define the optimum inverter system design.
  • Carry out competitor analysis (benchmarking) of different inverter system solutions in the transportation market.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Enrolled in an engineering program with an accredited school.
  • Preferably working towards or has a Bachelor of Science in the field of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Some level of analytical ability and understanding of engineering theory and principles of design.
Work Environment

The Inverter Design Engineering Student will work in an office environment with minimum travel required. While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by manufacturing processes.
