Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Powertrain Systems Engineer to join our team at Altair Engineering. As a key member of our powertrain team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative powertrain systems that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop 3D CAE models from CAD designs using commercial software such as ABAQUS and Nastran.
  • Perform structural analysis simulations on system, subsystem, and component level inverter system controls.
  • Evaluate simulation results and provide feedback and design direction to vehicle program and inverter team.
  • Interact with vehicle-level teams to obtain boundary conditions for inverter structural level simulations.
  • Collaborate with labs and vehicle-level testing teams to specify instrumentation for data collection and process physical structural test results.
  • Work with extended CAE teams overseas for CAE meshing and geometric clean-up tasks.

Requirements:

  • M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology with 12 months of experience in CAE Durability Engineer, CAE/Simulation Engineer, or similar mechanical engineering position.
  • 12 months of experience in ABAQUS CAE, HyperWorks, LS-PrePost, NX Nastran, LS-Dyna, nCode, and modeFRONTIER.
  • 40 hours/week, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
