Clinical Technician

The Clinical Technician provides direct patient care under the direction of a nurse and performs other tasks necessary for unit operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Delivers patient care, assists, reinforces, and instructs patients as needed.
- Manages multiple patient care assignments based on unit acuity and staffing levels.
- Receives report from primary care partner and completes assignments in a timely and organized manner.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Recognizes and responds to emergency situations, including CPR when indicated.
- Maintains annual competency with patient-specific procedures.
- Enters accurate and timely documentation into the electronic medical record.
- Reports pertinent patient changes and clinical findings to primary care partner.
- Meets minimum education and certification requirements.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
- Must satisfy one of the following:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current State of Florida licensure.
- RN student who has completed nursing fundamentals or caring scholar course and is actively enrolled in an RN Nursing program.
- Graduate of an RN program who is pending authorization to test for the NCLEX or has not passed their first NCLEX and is awaiting second test.
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with current valid Florida licensure and work experience.
