Position Overview:
Join Leidos as a Lead Systems Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in advancing Electronic Warfare (EW) initiatives that safeguard our national security and support the warfighter against evolving threats. In this senior position, you will be based in our San Diego office, contributing to cutting-edge hardware architectures, including system-on-chip (SoC) technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Chief Engineer and a multidisciplinary team of Integration and Test Engineers, Signal Processing Engineers, and Software Engineers.
- Manage and apply Systems Engineering (SE) standard methodologies, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) models, and tools to facilitate:
- Requirements analysis
- Problem diagnosis and solution design
- Integration and test preparation
- Risk assessment and mitigation planning
- Interface with government representatives to outline necessary activities, engage in collaborative planning, review deliverables, and resolve SE challenges.
- Oversee technical management and execution of engineering tasks, including:
- Requirements analysis
- Implementation planning
- Coordination with third parties
- Integration and testing
- Documentation and deployment
- Utilize an MBSE approach for systems planning, design, execution, and operations.
- Establish processes for technical platforms, system specifications, and compatibility parameters for hardware and software.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive systems engineering documentation and models using MBSE tools.
- Create clear entry and exit criteria for technical reviews, ensuring appropriate stakeholder engagement and documentation.
- Monitor and report on technical variances, facilitating the resolution of issues and risks that may hinder successful product delivery.
- Identify and manage external dependencies effectively.
- Innovate methodologies to enhance system integration and leverage new technologies to address challenges.

Basic Qualifications:
- Active Secret clearance with the capability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline with 12+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience.
- Proficient knowledge of SoC and RF technologies.
- Familiarity with SoC design processes, including RTL, DFT, PD, and Verification.
- Experience in developing test plans, analyzing results, and preparing technical reports.
- Background in embedded signal processing algorithms and software deployment on complex SoCs.
- Competence in C/C++ programming and Linux operating systems.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% to customer or subcontractor sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in modeling, designing, assembling, integrating, and testing complex systems.
- Master’s degree in Systems Engineering.
- Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler.
- Familiarity with electronic test equipment such as function generators and oscilloscopes.
- Hands-on experience in developing low-level embedded system software and device drivers for ASIC or SoC.
- Strong grasp of radar theory and experience in radar modeling, simulation, or algorithm development.
- Demonstrated leadership in SoC development projects and involvement in technical proposals or business development strategies.
