Quality Control Manager Job Description

Brayman Construction Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Manager to join our team on a long-term US Army Corps of Engineers project at the Bluestone Dam in West Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our work is performed to the highest standards and will play a key role in eliminating rework and ensuring owner satisfaction.

This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary and generous benefits, including medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, holidays, and wellness time. The full-time schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 48+ hours per week, with some variation based on project needs. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to travel to and work on the construction site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that the company's quality control procedures are being followed
  • Develop and implement quality control tests and procedures that meet or exceed company and project requirements
  • Oversee our team of Quality Control staff and collaborate with other project team members
  • As an integral part of the team, there will be times when you must perform the duties of the QC Engineer as well

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of related professional experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Geology
  • Experience with the US Army Corps of Engineers
  • Experience in the inspection and testing of various construction disciplines like concrete, soils, welding, or maintenance of traffic required
  • Legal registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geology License is preferred
  • Experience with steel erection projects a plus
  • Experience with Structural Concrete and Mass Concrete a plus
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Safety:

This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects with various safety hazards which are potentially life-threatening to the employee. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, around high voltage, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
