Job Description

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall performance of the store, ensuring seamless execution of organizational objectives, and driving store and profit goals. This includes managing controllable expenses, optimizing revenue streams, and leading a high-performing team. The GM is also responsible for customer and associate satisfaction, brand standards, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the management team to achieve store and profit goals, ensuring execution of organizational objectives and initiatives.
  • Manage financial plans for the store, reviewing and interpreting financial reports to take appropriate action and achieve goals.
  • Analyze income statements and utilize reports to ensure store profitability, managing inventory to maximize sales and control costs.
  • Ensure conditions across the store meet or exceed standards for safety, service, and operational efficiency, adhering to work designs and implementing improvement actions.
  • Lead change initiatives, champion programs, and educate associates on the need for change, ensuring programs are executed according to design and integrated.
  • Provide a positive shopping experience for all customers, responding to complaints or inquiries and soliciting feedback to meet customer expectations.
  • Staff the store appropriately to cover customer and business demands, proactively identifying hiring needs and consulting with the management team to make final hiring decisions.
  • Allocate resources, prioritize, and delegate work, effectively managing time through efficient scheduling and labor hour usage.
  • Create and sustain an inclusive store atmosphere, valuing store associates through celebration and recognition, and supporting their development through talent management processes.
  • Build relationships with community partners to connect the store with its community, leveraging tools, resources, and information throughout the organization.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Experience leading, selecting, training, performance management of staff, sales building, labor allocation & scheduling, managing expenses.
  • Experience effectively implementing change and demonstrated results in execution.
  • Experienced in all areas of store operations, including foodservice.
  • Flexible availability which may include all shifts, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
  • Leadership experience in a fast-paced retail, food service, or fuel environment preferred.
  • Serve Safe Certification.
  • Proven and consistently demonstrated skills in the following:

    • Effective Communication.
  • Ability to relocate as needed preferred.
