About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interior Design and Sales Specialist to join our team at Wayfair. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, leveraging your interior design and sales expertise to drive sales growth, and contributing to the success of our home furnishings business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide an authentic and friendly customer experience that exemplifies our commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Design and Sales Expertise: Utilize your interior design and sales expertise to help customers navigate their design needs and purchases, and to drive sales growth.
  • Design Appointments: Manage virtual and in-store design appointments, including preparation of design deliverables, product curation, and follow-up.
  • Sales Analytics and Design Software: Utilize sales analytics and design software tools and applications to drive store profitability and growth.
  • Product Knowledge: Share your expertise in fabric and finishes, bringing awareness to performance, texture, and durability characteristics, as well as market trends.
  • Time Management: Efficiently manage your time in design appointments and sales floor interactions, prioritizing the customer experience while keeping communication open with leadership.
  • Sales and Customer Satisfaction Targets: Meet or exceed sales and customer satisfaction targets, and other established KPIs.
  • Operational Store Activities: Participate in operational store activities as needed, including bringing new products to the floor, floor sets, replenishment, and substitutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Bring a willingness to share innovative ideas and solutions to continuously improve team operations.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years of sales experience, some of it with high-price-point products (preferably in a design-related environment).
  • Design Experience: Experience in design, such as interior, architectural, graphic, with a clear understanding of design principles.
  • Passion for Design: Passion for design, great customer service, and a drive to exceed sales targets.
  • Organization and Communication Skills: Strong organization, self-motivation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Technical Acumen: Technical acumen to learn necessary software, proficiency in Google Suites and/or Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • CRM and Design Software: Prefer experience leveraging CRMs/POS/design software such as AutoCAD, Sketchup, Revit, etc.
  • Team Sales Environment: Demonstrated ability to work within a team sales environment.
  • Fast-Paced Environment: Track record of thriving in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or college diploma equivalent preferred.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
  • Standing and Walking: Frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
  • Handling and Reaching: Frequently required to handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Lifting and Moving: Occasionally required to sit, regularly climb or balance, and frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly, frequently, or occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific Vision Abilities: Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Compensation: Compensation starting at $19.55 per hour, which increases based on relevant experience, plus substantial quarterly bonuses.
