Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head Coach in planning and implementing the track and field program
  • Develop and implement training plans for athletes
  • Provide coaching and guidance to athletes during practices and competitions
  • Assist with the recruitment and retention of athletes
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive team culture
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited program/university in a related field
  • Florida Instructional Certification (any subject)
  • Two years of documented sport-specific and age-level coaching experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the sport at the competition level
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the management of large groups of students/athletes
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three to five years of documented sport-specific and grade-level coaching experience
  • College-level coaching experience may substitute for high school coaching experience
Notes:
  • Temporary Athletic Coaching Certificates are not renewable by the State of Florida
  • To obtain a five-year (Professional) Athletic Coaching Certificate, you will be required to complete sports-specific, sports medicine, and sports theory courses and receive a valid CPR card from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
