In this role, you will serve as the technical lead for a team of software developers working on the Withhold at Source System. This system is essential for the accounting and reconciliation of withholding taxes for various entities, including real estate sellers, nonresident entertainers, independent contractors, partners, and beneficiaries in California.

Work Environment

This position allows for remote work within California, adhering to departmental guidelines and operational needs. FTB mandates a minimum in-office presence of two days per week for all roles, including those eligible for telecommuting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize various tools to plan, schedule, and execute assigned tasks.
  • Develop and maintain applications to address enhancement requests, maintenance needs, and production incidents.
  • Generate and deploy code from testing environments to production at the conclusion of each release cycle.
  • Create and uphold comprehensive low-level design documentation to support enhancement and maintenance requests, as well as established processes.
  • Provide assistance to fellow development, analysis, testing, and production support teams.
  • Participate in meetings to discuss proposed legislation and contribute insights regarding application direction.
  • Attend, present, and engage in review sessions focused on various aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and production support.
