About the Role
Portsmouth Regional Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiac Stepdown Service Unit (CSSU). As a Cardiac Stepdown Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to patients with cardiovascular diagnoses and procedures, including pre and post cardiac caths, pacemakers, TEEs/Cardioversions, open heart surgery, ablations, TAVRs, groin management, strokes/TIAs, traumas, sepsis, COPD, CHF, AFib exacerbations, detox and drug abuse, and general med/surg telemetry overflow and IV maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
- Work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Instruct and educate patients and family members.
- Coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) License in NH or valid Compact State License.
- BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross).
- Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia - (within 3 months from hire).
- NIH Stroke Scale within 45 days of hire.
