Restorative CNA Program Manager

Health Center at Standifer Place seeks a highly skilled Restorative CNA to join its team. As a key member of our nursing department, the ideal candidate will provide restorative nursing programs and collaborate with therapy to ensure residents receive optimal care. This is a dynamic role that requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
Job SummaryThe Restorative CNA will be responsible for providing restorative nursing programs, including ROM, ambulation, bed mobility, and incontinent management. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of clinical experience as a CNA, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality care. Additionally, the candidate must possess excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Restorative Programs
- Provide ROM and ambulation programs to residents, with a focus on improving mobility and reducing the risk of falls.
- Implement bed mobility, positioning, and transfer techniques to ensure residents are comfortable and safe.
- Apply splints, braces, cones, prosthetic devices, and care for limbs as needed.
- Assist with Restorative Dining techniques, including cueing and swallowing, to promote resident autonomy and dignity.
- Develop and implement activity of daily living (ADL) programs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Manage incontinence and provide support to residents with this condition.
- Transfer residents safely and efficiently, with a focus on minimizing the risk of injury.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care.
- Restorative Dining
- Participate in the development and implementation of the Restorative Dining program, with a focus on promoting resident autonomy and dignity.
- Direct regular CNAs regarding resident Restorative Dining programs, with a focus on consistency and quality of care.
- Resource and Role Model
- Serve as a resource and role model for CNAs, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
- Documentation and Quality Improvement
- Document program completion and narrative progress notes as required by facility policy.
- Attend Restorative meetings and care plan conferences to ensure seamless care and address any concerns or issues.
- Report unusual problems or concerns regarding resident care to nursing staff immediately.
- Equipment and Safety
- Report malfunctioning or improperly fitting equipment to therapy and restorative nurse.
- Place preventative/pressure relief mattresses and wheelchair cushions as directed by restorative nurse.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Offer suggestions and provide input into the development of the interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Assist with general orientation and ongoing Restorative nursing in-services.
To be considered for this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Licensed Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Minimum of two years of clinical, bedside CNA experience, with evidence of positive evaluations.
- Knowledge and skills in basic restorative nursing principles and practices.
- Evidence of ability to work as a member of a team.
- Reliable, good judgment, and takes initiative.
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions, able to write in English.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and have manual dexterity.
- Understands and embraces the facility restorative philosophy.
- Communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Demonstrates accountability and responsibility.
