About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager to lead our Motion Sensing Engineering team at Apple. As a key member of our Hardware Engineering organization, you will be responsible for defining and executing the motion sensing roadmap for next-generation Apple products, including iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and integration of innovative sensing technologies, such as accelerometers, gyroscopes, pressure sensors, and magnetometers, working with world-leading suppliers and multi-functional system teams.
  • Oversee and coordinate the specification, development, characterization, integration, and validation of motion sensing systems at the module and system level.
  • Facilitate top-level feature integration and multi-functional communications across the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate program risks, and efficiently react to unexpected changes in the program.
  • Work with engineering management to define the motion sensing roadmap and improve the system by identifying patterns, offering best practices, and implementing change.
Requirements
  • Product development or engineering experience shipping semi-conductor, sensing, MEMS, or other related hardware.
  • Experience in physics, mechanical, electrical, or material science engineering.
  • Experience with interfacing micro-controllers with analog and digital sensors, embedded programming, or signal processing.
  • Experience with data collection, data analysis, and statistical analysis tools (e.g. Matlab, Python, or JMP).
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally.

  • Technical background with knowledge of sensing technologies and/or system sensor integration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and uncertainty and see around the corner.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with proven creative and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Solid problem-solving, failure analysis, and debugging skills.
  • Solid collaboration skills, with the ability to fit in well with a team, understand capabilities and priorities, and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Great organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and align team members.
