KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

(80%) Patient Imaging:

  • Conducts standard and complex MRI examinations on specified body areas for physician review in diagnosing and managing patient conditions with minimal supervision.
  • Evaluates patients prior to procedures for any potential risks or contraindications related to the MRI examination.
  • Prepares individuals for MRI scans by explaining the process and positioning them correctly for optimal imaging.
  • Adjusts imaging parameters accurately as required.
  • Fosters positive interactions and collaboration with radiologists, referring offices, and colleagues.
  • Engages with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families as necessary.
  • Adheres strictly to physician directives and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
  • Maintains precise patient documentation within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Keeps the workspace organized and hygienic, promoting safety for patients and coworkers.
  • Ensures compliance with ACR toolkit and accreditation standards.

(15%) Department Support:

  • Ensures MRI equipment is well-maintained and sanitized after each use.
  • Assists in the upkeep of an updated MRI protocol manual and oversees software enhancements.
  • Monitors and manages medical supply levels.
  • Contributes to the training of new staff, offering expertise and resources.

(5%) Additional Duties:

  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
