Surgical Technician, KSMC

As a Surgical Technician at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced operating room environment. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless surgical procedures, maintaining a safe and efficient workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in pre-operative briefings and time-outs to ensure accurate patient information and surgical plans.
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists with surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to aseptic technique.
- Coordinate with the surgical team to prepare and maintain the operating room, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to promote patient safety and satisfaction.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and surgical outcomes.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Basic Life Support certification required at hire.
- Surgical Technologist Certificate required at hire.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicating clearly and respectfully with colleagues and patients.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a safe and efficient workflow.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two to five years of scrubbing experience in an inpatient or ambulatory OR setting.
- Ability to rotate through sterile core areas, including instrument processing and supply management.
