Job Summary

This position is responsible for operating various types of heavy equipment trucks to haul stone, earth, waste lubricants, fuel, water, supplies, and miscellaneous store materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations of MSHA/OSHA/DOT and Pennsy Supply, Inc.
  2. Conduct daily safety assignments (risk assessments, workplace exams, pre-shifts, JSA's, TRACK, etc.)
  3. Perform general laboring duties when necessary
  4. Perform pre-shift safety inspections on equipment before operating
  5. Operate variable hand and foot controls to govern speed, gearing, and dumping of automatic trucks in the performance of job duties
  6. Haul mud, such as stripping, waste from production to waste dump sites; haul stone from stockpiles or bins to stockpiles, plants, or primary crushers; haul water in tank trucks and spray roadways and designated quarry areas for dust control; haul equipment, repair parts, supplies, and materials to and from storage; haul personnel as directed
  7. Operate skid-steer machines to perform cleanup around the plant
  8. Inspect berms before dumping to ensure no safety hazards exist
  9. Inspect stockpiles and dump areas for stability before dumping loads
  10. Maintain cleanliness of cab shields to ensure stockpiles are not contaminated by oversized remnants on canopies
  11. Maintain correct stockpiling techniques to ensure materials do not segregate
  12. Responsible to stockpile proper products on correct stockpiles
  13. Sustain a high degree of care and attention required to prevent injuries to others in highly congested areas
  14. Assure proper loading of trucks to ensure no spillage of materials on roadways or around stockpiles where contamination could occur
  15. Determine the need for fuel, coolants, lubricants, ignition aids, and add as needed; inspect, lubricate, and service trucks and report conditions to supervisors
  16. Maintain cleanliness of equipment in work areas
  17. Perform general maintenance tasks, including oiling, greasing, basic welding skills, using acetylene torches, and mechanical aptitude is necessary for this role
  18. Be prepared to learn dozer, excavator, plant loader, pit loader, and pit hauler equipment, as well as other mobile equipment associated with quarry operations
  19. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  1. Able to work independently with attention to detail
  2. Able to follow direction and work effectively in a team environment
  3. Must submit to drug screens and criminal background checks

Education/Experience

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Previous experience is helpful

This position offers a highly competitive base pay of approximately $60,000 per year, depending on experience, in addition to comprehensive medical, dental, and disability benefits programs, a group retirement savings program, health and wellness programs, and a culture that values opportunity for growth, development, and internal promotion.
