SUMMARY:

The Electronics Assembler I is responsible for the assembly and testing of a variety of products in the Electronics Department according to company standards using hand tools and some electronic or pneumatic tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.

  • Performs multiple equipment operations by following specific procedure documentation. This equipment operation includes a wide range of assembly techniques and technologies.
  • Performs multiple assigned manufacturing duties by following specific blueprint and other documented work instructions.
  • Perform bench type processes to complete electrical and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies, using hand tools and electronic and pneumatic tooling.
  • Performs on-line go/no-go testing and inspection using electronic test equipment to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
  • Adjust or replace electrical or electronic components to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Interfaces with engineers, technicians, and other manufacturing personnel as necessary to effect completion of assemblies.
  • Adaptable to working in different assembly areas as required.
  • Completes tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities and workspace organization improvement.
  • Reports defective materials or questions conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Any other similar or associated duties necessary to accomplish job objectives, or as assigned by the immediate supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each ESSENTIAL DUTY satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Education High School Diploma/GED or equivalent is required
  • Experience Equivalent/relevant work knowledge
  • Language and Communication Skills: The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information in a one on one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret charts.
  • Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The ability to stand 8+ hours a day. The ability to reach and bend. The ability to frequently lift, push, or pull, up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity is required. The ability to wear all proper PPE's, as required. The employee must be able to work in a state of constant alertness and in a safe manner.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Manufacturing and warehouse work areas. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, machinery, tools, and more, as the Mechanics area coincides within Warehouse. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate depending on the scope of work.
