Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Governance Lead to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive master data governance strategy that aligns with our business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a data governance strategy that ensures the accuracy, consistency, and quality of our master data.
  • Define data governance policies, standards, and procedures for managing master data, including data quality metrics and monitoring performance.
  • Design and implement a master data management (MDM) architecture and interfaces with appropriate systems that produce or consume master data elements.
  • Establish and maintain data quality controls and processes to ensure the accuracy and consistency of master data.
  • Oversee data cleansing and standardization activities to ensure data quality and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to establish and maintain data quality controls and processes.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to establish roles, responsibilities, and structures for data governance.
  • Build strong relationships with data council and stewards to champion data governance across the organization.
  • Develop and implement training programs to educate team members on the significance of data governance and its impact on business outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8-10 years' experience working cross-functionally leading teams in a regulated industry.
  • 5-7 years of experience in data governance or data management.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful data governance programs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data governance principles, methodologies, and effective approaches.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Strong ability to effectively solve problems and think critically.
  • Proficiency in data profiling, modeling, and data quality concepts.
  • Project and change management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with master data management solutions and tools.
  • Experience in AI/ML predictive analytics and generative AI.
  • Experience working in a similar industry.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations.
