The Underwriting Manager is a critical role within our organization, responsible for overseeing the underwriting process and ensuring that our team of underwriters are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and manage a team of underwriters to ensure they are meeting or exceeding performance standards.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of underwriters.
- Monitor and analyze underwriting performance data to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and workflow.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide coaching and feedback to underwriters to improve performance.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and evaluations.
- Identify and develop opportunities for process improvements.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments.
- 6-8 years of experience in residential mortgage underwriting, with recent exposure in government and agency originations.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a team lead or management role.
- Strong knowledge of loan regulatory guidelines and industry trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and identify areas for improvement.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
