Job Summary

The Clinical Support Resource RN plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality patient-centered care by providing guidance, education, and feedback to new graduate nurses and/or nurses transitioning to a new specialty. This position supports multiple units and is responsible for ensuring compliance with accrediting and regulatory agency requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Perform rounds on each nursing unit to observe and assess the quality of patient care.
  • Identify nursing educational needs and provide guidance and education on the hospital's standard of nursing practice, policies, and procedures.
  • Escalate concerns about nursing skills, patient care, policies, processes, and equipment as appropriate.
  • Ensure that nurses within scope of support have a clear understanding of how to integrate patient experience into nursing practice.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse in the state of TX or compact license.
  • Bachelors Degree is required.
  • NIH Stroke Scale, or Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • 2 years of previous critical care experience in an Acute Care ED/ICU setting.
