Job Summary

As an Event Support Specialist at Texas Woman's University, you will provide high-level technical support to the Student Union for event audio/visual technology systems and services. This includes troubleshooting and resolving AV problems, creating and editing presentations, and setting up and operating AV equipment for live events and meetings.

Key Responsibilities

Schedules and sets up audio/visual for non-academic events
Serves as technician for designated non-academic events with a high level of customer service
Assists in planning layout and coordination for audio, video, and recording requirements
Consults on use of lighting and sound for recording requests
Maintains responsible use of hardware, software, network, peripheral equipment, tools, and test equipment in the Student Union
Maintains and troubleshoots audio visual equipment
Supervises Student Union student tech team
Operates lighting, sound, camera, video recorder, and accessories
Receives and responds to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding event audio/visual problems
Provides informal hands-on training to users on the use of audio/visual equipment
Develops and maintains current technical documentation and on-line help files for equipment use and training

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required
Two years' experience required
Background in event audio/visual support preferred
CTS, HDI certifications preferred

Work Environment

The Event Support Specialist will work in a typical interior work environment and may be required to travel. The employee is required to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. All employees are responsible for maintaining an environment that is free from discrimination, intimidation, harassment, including sexual harassment.
