Position Summary: Quality Assurance Supervisor

We are in search of a dedicated professional with a background in food production. The ideal candidate will possess experience in a Safe Quality Food (SQF) environment. This role entails the responsibility of maintaining and enhancing SQF standards at our manufacturing facility. The Quality Assurance Supervisor will collaborate with team members to develop and validate standard operating procedures and guidelines. Additionally, this individual will ensure compliance with the Food Safety Program, delivering exceptional service and quality across all products. A college degree along with expertise in Food Safety, HACCP, GMPs, and SQF is required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits and evaluations related to the Safe Quality Food Program (SQF).
  • Serve as backup SQF Practitioner in the absence of the QA manager.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.
  • Perform monthly Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Assist in addressing customer complaints and conducting root cause analyses.
  • Support SQF program verification activities.
  • Oversee the hold and release program.
  • Manage SOP documentation for the manufacturing site.
  • Prepare for and participate in food safety audits.
  • Ensure all quality documentation, both electronic and printed, is current and accurate.
  • Audit Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for ingredients.
  • Ensure adherence to GMPs and hygiene practices among personnel.
  • Facilitate training for employees on food safety protocols.
  • Guide and motivate timely corrective actions following audits.
  • Conduct root cause analyses on defective materials.
  • Review daily quality documentation for precision.
  • Carry out monthly audits.
  • Maintain physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in a food manufacturing setting.
  • HACCP Certification is mandatory.
  • PCQI Certification is required.
  • SQF Practitioner Certification is advantageous.
  • Internal Auditor Training is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
