We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our team at The Ned NoMad, a sophisticated members' club and hotel in the heart of New York City.
Job SummaryThe Line Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking food to a high standard, working closely with the Sous Chefs, CDC, and Executive Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, maintain, and clean station according to The Ned and local regulated guidelines.
- Prepare all food items to recipe and as trained to ensure consistent product is served for our members globally.
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by The Ned.
- Restock all items as needed throughout shift.
- Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety, sanitation, organizational skills.
- Properly use and maintain kitchen equipment.
- Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.
- A minimum of 1 + years of experience in a fast-paced and professional environment.
- Previous experience working in a high-volume and food forward restaurant.
- Proven success of champion of the culture, facilitating excellent communication and engagement.
- Team focused with an understanding of the bigger picture and how you can contribute.
- Able to effectively manage different stakeholders and be persuasive.
- Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
- Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
- Fast-paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others.
- Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 20 to 60 pounds.
- Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
- Must be able to use step ladder.
