Position Overview:
As a Facility Custodian, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and operational functionality of the school environment. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that all areas of the school are well-kept and secure.

Work Schedule:
The standard working hours for this position will typically be from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM. However, flexibility may be required to accommodate school events and other operational needs.

Compensation and Benefits:
This is a full-time, year-round position with an hourly wage starting at $22.93, commensurate with experience. Benefits include employer-sponsored medical, dental, short-term and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, and paid time off. Additional optional benefits such as vision and life insurance are available at the employee's expense.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily cleaning tasks, including waste disposal, recycling management, and sanitization of all school facilities such as classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
  • Assist staff, students, and community members during their use of the facilities, including setting up and dismantling audio-visual equipment and providing support as needed.
  • Manage building operations for events, ensuring areas are prepared and secured.
  • Perform safety inspections and maintenance checks, addressing any hazards or issues promptly.
  • Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks, including painting, plumbing, and outdoor upkeep.
  • Maintain communication with the Facility Lead and Manager regarding departmental needs and issues.
  • Participate in seasonal cleaning and maintenance projects as assigned.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and assist with various maintenance tasks as required.
  • Deliver supplies and materials across campus as needed.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • No prior experience necessary; however, experience in cleaning, chemical handling, and customer service is advantageous.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required.
  • Safety and pesticide training must be completed within six months of hire.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic problem-solving skills and the ability to operate various cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Attention to detail and a strong customer service orientation.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and the ability to report unsafe conditions.
