Position: Senior Aircraft Interior Technician

Key Skills Required:

Weekend Shift (Friday - Sunday)

Preferred experience in aircraft interior installations. Proficient in computer usage. Experience with 3D modeling is a plus.

Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. A minimum of 4 years of relevant installation, fabrication, or related experience is required. Experience in the aerospace sector is preferred. Position Overview: The Senior Aircraft Interior Technician operates with limited oversight to remove, install, and/or fabricate aircraft interiors, which may encompass components such as trim, carpeting, soundproofing, lightweight structures, cabinetry, panels, and various accessories. All tasks performed must align with company design specifications and quality standards, ensuring that completed work meets customer satisfaction. This role also involves mentoring and training junior Interior Installation Technicians. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Safely execute the removal, installation, and/or fabrication of aircraft interiors, including galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors, and panels.
  2. Collaborate with supervision and inspection teams to ensure adherence to Repair Station protocols, internal and FAA documentation, sign-offs, and quality standards.
  3. Guide and train other Interior Installation Technicians, reviewing their work to ensure compliance with quality control measures.
  4. Assume leadership responsibilities as necessary, overseeing projects or other technicians and evaluating task requirements to acquire necessary materials and documentation.
  5. Utilize the material tracking system to generate parts demand, monitor issues, and sign off on completed work.
  6. Adhere to standard operating procedures while using tools and equipment such as hand tools, band saws, shears, sanders, and brakes, ensuring proper maintenance of shop equipment.
  7. Prepare and install aircraft interior components following company operational procedures and quality standards.
  8. Remove and reinstall nut plates, inserts, and other fasteners utilized in aircraft interiors, applying appropriate hardware and fittings.
  9. Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, using personal protective equipment as necessary and addressing unsafe conditions proactively.
  10. Assist fellow technicians with aircraft maintenance tasks.
  11. Adapt to sudden schedule changes and coordinate projects with other departments as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with lead and higher-skilled technicians to develop and implement process enhancements aimed at reducing costs, cycle times, and labor hours through Lean Six Sigma and other improvement methodologies.
  2. Create and utilize simple patterns for personal use following standardized procedures.
  3. In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may involve flight tests on aircraft as required.
Other Requirements:
  1. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documents.
  2. Proficient in using hand/power tools and equipment related to the installation and removal of interiors.
  3. Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
  4. Must possess computer literacy.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Advanced knowledge of aircraft installation and/or fabrication processes relevant to the position, including the removal and installation of galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors, and panels; experience with composite panels made from Nomex honeycomb, fiberglass, Lexan, acrylic materials, etc.
  7. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently.
