Senior Avionics Technician at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation

Key Skills:

Oversees, guides, and aids the team of technicians engaged in avionics installations. Constructs wire harnesses, executes installations, performs terminations, conducts ring-out, and assists in the functional testing of avionics and electrical systems.

Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of two (2) years of accredited education in aviation electronics alongside two (2) years of relevant work experience; or four (4) years of experience in an avionics or electronic field. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematic diagrams. Position Objective: Oversees, guides, and aids the team of technicians engaged in avionics installations. Constructs wire harnesses, executes installations, performs terminations, conducts ring-out, and assists in the functional testing of avionics and electrical systems. Job Responsibilities: Primary Duties:

1. Directs the work of technicians, ensuring tasks are completed within the designated timeframe. Collaborates with and supports other departments to guarantee timely aircraft delivery.
2. Installs, modifies, and fabricates wiring and electrical components, fixtures, and related equipment according to blueprints, worksheets, and engineering drawings.
3. Mentors fellow team members in related work tasks, utilizing expertise as a skilled specialist to foster employee development and innovative techniques.
4. Assists Engineering in troubleshooting issues and performs repairs as directed by engineering.
5. Maintains necessary logs and records.
6. Ensures that completed work adheres to applicable regulatory standards and customer specifications.
7. Implements the company’s FOD program, tool control program, 5-S program, and all safety regulations.
8. Reviews all work, including that of team members, to ensure a defect-free assembly prior to final inspection.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Properly maintains and cares for shop equipment and tools as assigned by the Supervisor.
2. Facilitates shift transitions in the absence of the team leader.
3. Engages in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., YIAW, Kaizen events, etc.).
4. Assists and substitutes for the team coordinator as necessary.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

1. Possesses a comprehensive understanding of Gulfstream Policies and Procedures manual, Inspection Procedures manual, and relevant Process Specifications.
2. Demonstrates the ability to transition to new tasks with minimal disruption to established goals and schedules.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
4. Proficient computer keyboard skills are required.
5. Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language.
