Position Overview

The Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) offers tailored, education-focused speech and language therapy to students. The SLP is tasked with creating, executing, and connecting daily activities to the core curriculum. By engaging in ongoing collaboration with a diverse range of individuals and groups, including parents, district personnel, and various agencies, the SLP fosters the academic, social, and emotional development of each student through a variety of instructional techniques. The SLP continuously evaluates student progress to ensure they reach their maximum potential. This role also involves identifying and delivering remedial services for students experiencing language, speech, and hearing challenges. The SLP serves as a valuable resource for both regular and special education instructors.

Qualifications and Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Speech-Language Pathology, Communicative Disorders, or a closely related field;
  • A valid California Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential in Language, Speech, and Hearing, or the ability to secure a waiver for the Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential;
  • A valid California Driver's License.

  • Proof of bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communicative Disorders, or a closely related field;
  • Copy of a valid California Services Credential authorizing service as a Speech-Language Pathologist or proof of the ability to obtain a waiver for the Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential;
  • At least one recent letter of reference (dated and signed within the last three years).
