POSITION SUMMARY

Under the guidance of the General Engineering Manager, the Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and development of industrial ovens and associated systems, focusing on custom and intricate oven configurations.

Key Responsibilities

The following duties and responsibilities are not exhaustive and may be supplemented as deemed necessary by management:
  • Conduct research, develop, and engineer industrial ovens and systems, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, relevant codes, customer requirements, and budgetary limits.
  • Analyze and interpret customer requirements and sales contracts.
  • Collaborate with clients and suppliers on equipment design.
  • Guarantee adherence to codes and company standards for quality and manufacturability.
  • Create and maintain design layouts within the computerized design system.
  • Revise standard products to enhance quality and efficiency while minimizing costs.
  • Assess and select components and materials for products.
  • Initiate procurement processes.
  • Foster working relationships with Electrical Engineering and other departments to address and resolve technical issues.
  • Serve as a technical resource for sales teams, service personnel, quality assurance staff, and customer support.
  • Engage in cross-functional teams to tackle manufacturing, design, and quality challenges, ensuring continuous improvement of processes and methodologies.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements and new components or techniques to enhance product offerings.
  • Occasionally visit client locations.
  • Adhere to all housekeeping protocols, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
QUALIFICATIONS

To successfully fulfill this role, an individual must be capable of performing each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of ten years of relevant experience.

Proficiency in AutoCAD Inventor.

Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles.

Language Proficiency

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, professional literature, and blueprints. Proficient in writing reports and documentation. Effective communication skills with vendors, clients, and colleagues.

Mathematical Proficiency

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Capable of applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical scenarios.

Reasoning Skills

Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Capable of interpreting various instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.

Additional Skills and Abilities

Creative thinker, self-motivated, and highly organized.

Team-oriented with a positive outlook.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications.
