About the Role

This is a senior-level position that will lead the development of new products and enhancements to existing ones in the Property and Casualty team at Nationwide Private Client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product development, analytical skills, and experience in leading complex projects. The role will involve collaborating with business partners to implement strategies, researching and developing product/market solutions, and analyzing market information on competitors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. To develop and implement strategic business rules that support business requirements.
  2. To review pricing, design features, and associated processes, and make recommendations based on in-depth functional knowledge and opportunities for improvement.
  3. To develop and drive key initiatives and manage strategies related to growth and profitability objectives.
  4. To coordinate product strategy with sales, digital, field product, and marketing.
  5. To develop and control timelines, including regularly re-assessing risks, throughout project life.
  6. To lead the process of analyzing market information on competitors and proactively identifying product opportunities.
  7. To lead the coordination, development, and implementation of new product training.
  8. To be responsible for internal and external resource management, budgeting, and cost containment.
  9. To provide market analysis tools and global data to the regions and complete a national product analysis regarding performance, financial results, profitability, business mix, and competition.
  10. To design forecasting models and function as a technical specialist on product issues.
  11. To communicate financial objectives and results.
  12. To guide the exploration, sponsoring, and evaluation process of new product performance tools and technology enhancements.
  13. To be accountable for the quality and effectiveness of rate change and system improvement implementations.
  14. To coordinate process change improvements.
  15. To provide input to appropriate functional areas to develop business specifications.
  16. To lead the rate review, filing, and communication process for new development initiatives across all functional areas.
  17. To coordinate product recommended implementations.
  18. To initiate action plans to improve and/or maintain product performance.
  19. To ensure underwriting guidelines align with rate plan changes and corporate strategy.
  20. To design and implement state-level product strategy and communication plans throughout the organization.
  21. To assure effective communication to appropriate product leaders and functional areas of the organization.
  22. To proactively seek out opportunities to collaborate with other business partners while developing cross-functional knowledge in claims, sales, marketing, pricing, operations, underwriting, and finance.
  23. To act as a mentor to business partners.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in property and casualty insurance, financial services, marketing, or communications, with a minimum of 2 years of product development experience. A Bachelor's degree in insurance, actuarial science, mathematics, risk management, product management, finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred, along with insurance licenses or designations such as CPCU, ACAS, ARM, FLMI, NASD, or Project Management Certification.
