We are currently in search of a skilled NDE engineer to assist in the coordination and execution of project initiatives.

Our clients depend on our NDE engineers to devise solutions for emerging inspection challenges or to assess their existing NDE methodologies and provide insights for more efficient and precise inspections.

This position is suited for individuals with three to five years of technical experience in NDE techniques.

The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with NDE methods such as radiographic testing (RT), ultrasonic testing (UT), eddy current testing (ECT), thermal/infrared testing (IR), penetrant testing (PT), magnetic particle testing (MT), and visual testing (VT).

Additionally, familiarity with advanced volumetric NDE techniques, including phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT), phased array eddy current testing (PAET), PAUT & PAET apparatus design, computed tomography, digital radiographic testing, flaw recognition software development, and in-situ NDE process development for welding, cold (thermal) spray, and additive manufacturing processes is highly desirable.

Knowledge of inspection methodologies and related field practices and standards utilized in the oil & gas, aerospace, and automotive sectors is advantageous.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engage with clients to understand their NDE needs
Build strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify new project opportunities
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of NDE methods and experience with NDE equipment, software, and hardware
Lead research initiatives by collaborating with project managers, technicians, and engineers across various disciplines
Actively pursue educational and training opportunities to remain current and demonstrate continuous professional development
Identify and analyze issues, gather relevant data, and apply logical reasoning to determine optimal solutions; leverage knowledge and experience to achieve results that address client challenges
Compose clear, concise, and accurate technical project reports, presentations, or other documentation for clients and internal stakeholders
Deliver effective oral presentations aimed at informing or persuading both internal (peer and manager) and external (client) audiences
Contribute to the focus of Edison Welding Institute Inc.'s funding initiatives and may develop proposals requiring approval
Follow up and engage with clients on reactive sales transactions, initiating the sales process independently
Interact with clients through inquiry processes to explore sales opportunities

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Established technical expertise in NDE processes such as RT, UT, ECT, IR, PT, MT, and VT
ASNT Certification in one or more NDE methods
Proficient in automated inspection systems
Applied knowledge of non-contact measurement techniques and metrology
Skilled in creating, developing, and delivering presentations
Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility
Exhibits sound judgment in decision-making and execution
Solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to provide recommendations on issues
Proven ability to cultivate relationships with existing and prospective clients
Ability to manage multiple priorities autonomously while meeting schedule demands
Ability to function as a seasoned professional with an understanding of industry practices and company policies
Strong interpersonal skills that support collaboration, negotiation, and teamwork with a diverse group of sales, marketing, engineering, and other proposal personnel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven success in a collaborative team environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Willingness to travel periodically (10-15%) for client engagements and conferences

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Office environment and laboratory/light production area with adequate ventilation, climate control, moderate lighting, and noise levels;
Utilize finger and hand dexterity for typing, adjusting, moving, handling, operating, installing, attaching, removing, applying, grasping, gripping, manipulating, and measuring;
Visual acuity to see, analyze, and adjust;
Frequently move, transport, rotate, reach, pull, twist, adjust position, push, stand, stoop, bend, and crouch; and
Lift ten to twenty pounds regularly and forty to eighty pounds occasionally.

EDUCATION:
B.S. in Welding Engineering, Metallurgical or Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering disciplines.

EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a technical role related to NDE
Experience in introducing new advanced NDE and quality measurement technologies that have led to industrial applications.
