Job Summary

You will work under direct supervision and according to established guidelines and procedures, performing routine and complex procedures to obtain data for the clinical diagnosis of nervous system disorders in various modalities of neurodiagnostics.

Responsibilities
  1. Operate computer equipment to record nervous system responses, providing quantitative and objective measures of neuronal/sensory function.
  2. Collaborate with supervisors and medical personnel to resolve problems and advise on laboratory procedures, techniques, and equipment.
  3. Clean, adjust, and perform routine maintenance and repair on neurodiagnostic equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  4. Document pertinent medical history from patients or family members.
  5. React in medical emergencies to ensure patient safety, knowing unit and hospital procedures for working with high-acuity patients.
  6. Schedule patients for neurodiagnostic procedures and obtain required medical information, explaining procedures and alleviating fears.
  7. Prepare patients for tests, including measuring and marking cranial areas and fastening electrodes to specified positions on the scalp and body.
  8. Perform procedures with appropriate documentation.
  9. Identify EEG waveforms/patterns during testing and communicate with medical personnel.
Qualifications

High school diploma and 6 months of patient care or an associate or bachelor's degree.

CPR certification based on AHA standards, including a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
