Job Title: MD/PhD Program Manager

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented MD/PhD Program Manager to join our team at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting all programmatic activities related to the MD/PhD and PhD in Molecular Medicine and the MD/MS in Clinical and Translational Research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with NIH training grant proposal and all grant and program activities.
  • Track and evaluate student performance and promotion data as well as program evaluation data.
  • Collaborate with students and communications staff on the program's communication and outreach strategy.
  • Work closely with the Office of Admissions to ensure appropriate recruitment protocols are followed.
  • Assist the Office of Student Finance with the program's financial responsibilities, including processing student aid and stipends.
  • Oversee the program budget and program schedules.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and publicize all MD/PhD, MD/MS, and PhD student programming, events, and dissertation defenses.
  • Communicate and discuss contract terms with outside vendors.
  • Administer contracts in coordination with the finance team.
  • Develop and implement logistics for evaluating the effectiveness of programs, in collaboration with the director and assistant directors.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for MD/PhD, MD/MS, and PhD students with questions and issues, as needed.
  • Assist with curricular initiatives and co-curricular programming as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 2-3 years of administrative experience in a related field, preferably in higher education.
  • Superior organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrated customer service experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to creating an equitable and inclusive environment for all learners; experience working with and serving people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to exercise mature, independent judgment to maintain efficiency and accuracy while demonstrating exceptional collaborative skills.
  • Must have extensive computing experience and demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Google suite products.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience with grants administration, preferably with NIH training grants and systems.
