Overview

The Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests, ensuring a welcoming and efficient check-in and check-out experience. This role involves responding to inquiries from guests, both in person and over the phone, while delivering accurate information regarding reservations and hotel amenities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome guests and manage the check-in process daily, utilizing both manual and digital systems to ensure guest satisfaction and room assignments.
  • Oversee guest departures by executing check-out procedures, ensuring accurate closure of accounts and readiness of rooms for incoming guests.
  • Handle financial transactions with precision, including posting charges and managing cash flow, to provide guests with clear and timely billing upon check-out.
  • Address guest inquiries and manage reservations through effective communication of hotel rates and services, employing sales techniques to enhance occupancy and revenue.
  • Maintain strong customer relations by staying informed about hotel operations and local events, enabling prompt and knowledgeable responses to guest questions.
  • Operate telephone systems efficiently, managing incoming calls, assisting with outgoing calls, and coordinating wake-up calls for guests.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling at the front desk, adhering to hotel policies regarding financial accountability.
  • Exhibit a friendly and professional demeanor consistently, contributing to a positive guest experience.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support hotel operations.
  • Contribute to effective communication within the department by maintaining logs and information sources.
  • Assist colleagues and other departments to promote overall hotel performance.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in a front desk role is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Comfortable managing cash transactions.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods in a climate-controlled environment.
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
